As a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer and member of the LNG MDE External Engineering team here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for all stress analyses of piping systems related to LNG Equipment design. You will be responsible for supporting a complex and dynamic LNG equipment business by working across all engineering disciplines, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications. The person in this role will complete engineering analyses and calculations for piping systems including pipe supports related to LNG Coil Wound Heat Exchangers, other Pressure Vessels, Cold Boxes, and Modularized Liquefaction Equipment.
The Honeywell Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Mechanical Design Engineering team designs and manufactures specialized Coil Wound Heat Exchangers and other natural gas liquefaction equipment. The equipment is designed by our engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL, or other domestic and international 3rd party facilities. Our customers use this equipment to liquefy extracted natural gas, massively improving its transportability as an energy source to end users around the world.
The position of Pipe Stress Engineer shall be responsible for piping stress analyses on projects executed within LNG Mechanical Design Engineering team. The primary purpose is to provide a safe, fit-for-purpose piping stress design to an agreed schedule and specifications. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing or performing stress analyses of piping systems considering environmental conditions such as wind, seismic, or blast loads. This will require collaborating closely with other designers and engineers within the MDE team. Occasional collaboration with other functional areas including Process Engineering and Project Management will be required.
Other duties will include checking and approving of detailed design piping isometric and pipe support drawings created by others, reviewing customer specifications, participating in internal and external model review meetings, and supporting heat exchanger design work, bid activities, continuous improvement, manufacturing activities, customer liaison, and field work.
You will report to our Mechanical Design Engineering Manager and be based at our Honeywell LNG Headquarters located in Allentown, PA.
