Marmon Industrial Water designs and manufactures water and wastewater treatment equipment solutions, under the brand names Graver Water Systems and Ecodyne. Our technologies include raw water pretreatment, filtration, ion exchange, demineralization, degasification, hot lime softening, boiler make-up, condensate polishing, wastewater treatment, cooling, and oil/water separation for markets such as petrochemical/chemical, power generation and heavy industrial plants.
Marmon Industrial Water is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and layout of piping systems, possessing the knowledge, skills and experience required to design and detail custom process equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Designers, collaborating with the Mechanical Design Supervisor or Director of Engineering to support their professional development.
  • Design and develop 3D piping layouts for skid mounted process equipment based on P&ID drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable piping codes, standards, best practices, and client specifications.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing design tasks from concept through to completion. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Create detailed structural skid and pipe spool drawings for fabrication.
  • Utilize advanced piping design software, including SolidWorks, to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive bill of materials and lists for piping materials, valves and other components.
  • Interface regularly with cross-functional teams and report to the Mechanical Design Supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, specializing in piping design, using SolidWorks and/or CADWorx.
  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is a plus.
  • Strong experience in designing and modelling/drafting process equipment and piping systems.
  • Expertise in technical aspects of process equipment design, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prepare detailed equipment models based on P&IDs and client specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing demands, and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of piping codes and standards, including ASME, ANSI, AWWA, etc.
  • Problem solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with water treatment equipment design & drafting.
  • Familiarity with B31.3 and/or B31.1 piping codes.
  • Experience in structural steel design and drafting.
  • Experience with SMAP3D in SolidWorks
  • Ability to review engineering documents and specifications, identify critical or unusual requirements, and integrate them into the design.
  • Capable of working independently, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
