Athena have a number of opportunities to join our ever expanding team as a Senior Placement Manager, this role is based on a rota basis working 48 hours spread across seven days this Role is for Sunderland/Teesside

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A relevant qualification is desirable e.g. Level 3 or 4, 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent but not essential as enrolment on training courses will be available.
  • 6 months experience in a relevant field is desirable but not essential as in house training will be provided.
  • Transferable Adults and Children’s DBS is desirable but not essential
  • experience working alongside Ofsted and understanding of the regulation set out by Ofsted

Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB IS:

  • To offer quality support to service users to enable them to develop positive life skills in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures.
  • To respect, value and nurture service users to allow their individual talents and strengths to develop.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To work alongside the staff in managing the homes in an efficient manner with the available resources, ensuring these are used to the best effect for the proper care of the young people and running and maintenance of the homes.
  2. Requires excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to take responsibility for own work load.
  3. Ensure that training needs are identified and monitored accurately to ensure the skills and experience of staff is in fitting with the needs of the homes
  4. Seek to maintain the maximum level of individuality and independence of the children within solo living.
  5. Ensure that all children receive proper medical, dental and all health care needs are met appropriate to their individual needs and that they are kept under regular planned review.
  6. Participate in reviews, meetings, case conferences etc as and when required.
  7. Ensure that proper attention is given by staff to the health, safety and welfare matters throughout the home, including fire precautions, in order to minimise the risk of accidents and hurt or damage to children, staff, property and equipment.
  8. Co-operate at all times with the differing social services departments, staff and other professionals in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Insofar as they affect the home and the company, and to seek the advice of line management.
