SENIOR PLANNER

We’re looking for a Senior Planner to join our Rail team based in Solihull.
Location: Solihull, West Midlands - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required
Hours: 42 hours per week

Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

As a Senior Planner, you’ll be working within the Planning team, supporting them in planning and programming for large or complex rail infrastructure and associated buildings projects (over £20m). This may consist of a portfolio of smaller projects and may also involve managing planners who provide support with these schemes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Developing programmes ensuring compliance with the Kier planning standard and the NR ICOM Schedule Management Plan & NR local SMP’s, identifying scope, constraints and ensuring the programme is compliant with the contract, finding risks and opportunities in the programme, understanding the principles of day / shift based overall reporting metrics
  • Providing fully resourced programmes, producing resource histograms, resource level programmes, understanding and communicating the impact on programme schedules to the project team
  • Incorporating appropriate financial data in the programme, producing a project cost / time distribution profile and communicating the results to the project team (using RMM for CBS outputs)
  • Keeping informed where contractual changes are introduced by the client and are to be incorporated promptly into the programme in line with the contract protocols, updating programme as required by the contract / project ensuring all interfaces are identified, must be fully auditable via the baseline functionality
  • Undertaking peer reviews of other programmes and methodologies as appropriate, attending client and 3rd party presentations and meetings, presenting programme and methodology as appropriate

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

  • You are working on multi-discipline rail projects i.e. civils. buildings, Pway, OLE, E&P, M & E and SISS comms, production of schedules from first principles and in particular using a methodical and analytical approach
  • Are familiar with Network Rail PACE process (Project Acceleration in Controlled Environment), NEC4 Contract Conditions experience in programme commercial management i.e. compensation events
  • Have experience with Reporting EVA preferably with a working knowledge of RMM, Oracle Primavera P6 – In depth knowledge and reporting to Client contractual requirements, rIsk Management producing QSRA programmes and assigning risk registers to activities in preparation and resultant outputs, design and construct projects (including developing design programmes
