Octavius is delighted to have secured the design and build scheme to replace the life expired bridge structure carrying the Winterstoke Road over the London to Exeter mainline railway for North Somerset Council. This project, procured through the Pagabo Civils and Infrastructure Framework, involves replacing a bridge originally built by the Ministry of Defence in 1943. The route over the bridge is crucial for access to industrial and residential areas in Weston-Super-Mare. We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our team and contribute to this meticulously planned project, ensuring minimal disruption to businesses and the local community.

ABOUT YOU…. (WHAT YOU ARE SKILLED AT)

• Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (such as Structures, Buildings, Geotechnical, earthworks, highways)
• An excellent knowledge developed over time in applying planning software to create clear, comprehensible and realistic programmes.
• The ability to plan from first principles.
• Working knowledge of planning software (such as MS-Project, Asta Powerproject or P6 Primavera).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good level of NEC3 knowledge, and knowledge of how it should be applied to the contract programme.
• Understanding of construction design.

YOU’LL BRING… (YOUR WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering.
• Completion of courses relevant to a career in planning.
• Previous experience with a tier one contracting group operating in civil engineering, highways or earthworks.

• Develop, produce and update programmes for multiple projects.
