Job Description The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for the advanced development, management, and strategic oversight of project schedules and planning functions across multiple projects or complex programs. This role requires significant expertise in critical path analysis, risk mitigation, and sophisticated reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Project Scheduling and Control: Lead the development, maintenance, and detailed analysis of integrated master project schedules (IMS) and baseline schedules for complex projects, ensuring alignment with project scope and organizational objectives. Perform rigorous schedule risk analysis, critical path management, and float consumption tracking, providing expert recommendations for schedule optimization and recovery. Advanced Project Monitoring and Performance Analysis: Establish and manage project performance monitoring systems, tracking progress against the schedule and budget (e.g., using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques). Proactively identify potential delays, cost overruns, and performance variances, and develop high-level corrective action plans for senior management review. Proactive Risk and Opportunity Management: Spearhead the identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and development of sophisticated mitigation and contingency strategies for high-impact project risks. Identify and exploit project opportunities to enhance schedule efficiency and cost savings. Resource and Capacity Planning Leadership: Oversee the detailed analysis and forecasting of resource requirements (labor, materials, equipment) across all project phases. Develop and implement efficient resource loading and leveling strategies to optimize utilization and minimize bottlenecks. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary planning point of contact for project directors, senior management, stakeholders, and clients. Lead planning review meetings, communicating complex schedule information clearly and justifying planning strategies. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior planning staff. Executive Reporting and Documentation: Design and generate comprehensive, executive-level progress reports, including in-depth schedule analysis, detailed cost and trend analysis, and objective risk assessments for decision-makers. Ensure all planning documentation and records comply with contractual and organizational standards.
