Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Notice Period: 0–1 month (Preference for immediate joiners)
Experience: Minimum 12+ years (at least 8+ years as Senior Planning Engineer with a Consultant as part of a Construction Management Team)

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our construction management team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale building projects, with at least 8 years in a senior planning role under a consultancy. You will play a key role in project scheduling, coordination, risk analysis, and progress monitoring to ensure successful and timely project delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in planning for building projects, preferably in the UAE.
  • Minimum 8+ years experience working as a Senior Planning Engineer under a consultant, involved in construction management.
  • Strong command of Primavera P6, MS Project, and project control software.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, methods, and resource planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Municipality standards and procedures is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Project Planning:
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), identify critical paths, and plan resource allocation.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing project progress.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Identify variances from the baseline schedule and recommend corrective measures.
  • Coordination & Communication:
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to align project goals.
  • Conduct regular planning meetings and review sessions.
  • Cost & Resource Management:
  • Work closely with cost control teams to ensure adherence to project budgets.
  • Track and control resource usage to optimize efficiency.
  • Risk Management:
  • Proactively identify scheduling risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure early warning systems are in place to avoid project delays.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, logs, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
