Overview:
TA Instruments has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Plant Controller in the TA Newcastle manufacturing plant, as part of the Global Operations Finance team! As a department, the Global Operations Finance team provides accounting, analysis and reporting, and support for our Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities & Quality functions within Waters.
The Senior Plant Controller will report to the Director, Manufacturing Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full spectrum of financial activities including monthly close process and associated management reporting for the New Castle Manufacturing Plant.
  • Responsible for financial consolidation for TA Operations globally which includes manufacturing plants in New Castle Delaware, Eden Prairie Minnesota, Lindon Utah and Hüllhorst Germany.
  • Annual Operating Plan & Monthly Forecasting process.
  • Responsible for the Standard Costing accounting system operated across manufacturing.
  • Lead the TA Operations finance team (Six in total), establishing clear goals and expectations aligned with business strategy, and assisting in the team’s development.
  • Assess current financial processes and help to define both long-term and short-term improvement plans with an eye on continuous improvement.
  • Actively collaborate with key partners and cross-functional departments to get results
  • Evaluate controls and engage in internal audits
  • Perform monthly inventory accounting activities in support of warranty and repair operations. Including management of inventory and accounting for reserves and warranty costs.
  • Responsible for Capital spend tracking/forecasting and associated legal entity reporting.
  • Develop and detail work instructions and processes.
  • Participate in and lead projects as appropriate.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • BS in Finance/Accounting or MBA

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably within a publicly traded manufacturing company
  • Experience in manufacturing accounting / costing, strongly preferred.
  • Position requires high levels of organization, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to lead
  • Requires strong financial analysis, communication, and social skills with an internal strive to take on problems
  • The individual must be able to work closely in a team environment and have the communication skills and poise to do so successfully
  • Experience with SAP, Blackline, sophisticated Microsoft Excel and data analysis/query skills; Business Warehouse (BW), and Analysis for Office strongly preferred.
