Mō te tūranga | About the Role At Westpac we are constantly improving the core platforms that we use to deliver online services to our customers. Digital banking is an exciting and growing area which involves developing systems across a range of internal technology stacks. In this key role, you will collaborate across organisational boundaries to provide Platform Engineering and Site Reliability expertise to support applications deployed within the Digital tribe. Ōu Pūkenga | About you You have strong Unix administration skills. You are familiar with a wide range of Agile, DevOps, Site Reliability and CI/CD practices. You have a keen interest in system automation, delivery and Infrastructure As Code (IAC). You work efficiently with engineering teams to help with digital application delivery. You are able to define CI/CD pipelines to deploy resilient platform components and workflows. You use your Platform Engineering expertise to add input to and review system design decisions. You are passionate about supporting high quality applications by adhering to best practices. You contribute to our modernisation journey by looking into and refining delivery practices. Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? Expertise and experience in building and running Cloud Native Infrastructure including Kubernetes & Docker for Orchestration and Containerisation (essential). Experience building automated CI/CD Pipelines using Jenkins or similar. Use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) appropriate technologies such as Helm, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker essential. Git source repository and GitHub knowledge, with standard Git workflows. Strong shell scripting (bash, Python, Ruby, Java). Hands on experience leveraging monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace or similar. Good judgment of work prioritisation as well as demonstrated experience of agile methodology. Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues. Knowledge of Security engineering practices and tools is necessary, especially implementing infrastructure & code compliance and security in an automated way. Ability to review and recommend new deployment techniques and vendor products, and make recommendations on the acquisition of advance technology toolsets.
