JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a part-time Senior Practitioner to join our Play Work team in the after-school care at Northmuir OOSC- Northmuir Primary School- Kirriemuir, Angus. The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience in areas such as OOSC, ELC, Youth work or other childcare facilities although adult social care will also be accepted.

QUALIFICATIONS

You will hold a qualification in Childcare, Playwork or Children and Young People at SVQ level 3 (practitioner), HNC or equivalent.
You will have knowledge of child-development. You must have child protection knowledge and be a designated officer for our service. You must have good IT skills. You must be a child centred person with a passion for play and high-quality opportunities.
Rate of pay will reflect qualifications and experience.
You will be subject to a PVG disclosure check and you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment. All appointments come with a 6 month probationary period.

Responsibilities

Supervising and engaging with Primary School children within an After School Club, up to 15 hours a week are available between 3pm to 6pm term time, Monday to Friday.
You must be willing to work in all our sites in the event of staffing absence.
In brief- you will:
· Lead, organise, supervise and engage in learning and play experiences with our children.
· Arrange and co-ordinate the safe transportation of children from various sites (if applicable).
· Buy and organise healthy snacks
· Liaise with parents and carers daily- sharing childrens progress and interests.
· Distribute/follow up invoices as required.
· Help the manager keep local policies, procedures and records up to date and in-line with the groups quality assurance processes.
· Contribute to staff meetings and support self-improvement and evaluation processes, leading in the managers absence.
· Engage with other professionals from the company network as required.
· Implement safeguarding procedures for children and be a designated child protection officer and first aider.
