What to Expect
As part of the PLM Vehicle Engineering & Operations team, the PLM analyst will work with Design Engineering and NPI Program Management teams on sustaining vehicle and energy programs from design phases through production implementation. The PLM Analyst is responsible for transactional day-to-day activities such as analyzing and processing change orders to ensure an accurate and timely release of the Engineering Bill of Materials with proper specifications and part attributes to align with company standards, as well as ensuring accurate structuring of these changes to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials. Training of internal cross-functional teams on processes and monitoring their adherence while reviewing and processing requests is another essential function of the PLM Analyst.

What You’ll Do

  • Have a general understanding of Bill of Materials and its key components, and the PLM teams processes and standards to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions
  • Work within Tesla’s PLM and ERP platforms to process and track CA’s and Deviations on a daily basis while upholding Engineers to our standard processes and maintain an accurate Bill of Materials
  • Create deviated part numbers for manufacturing only usage as requested from manufacturing teams
  • Support construction and change management of multi-level Bills of Material as needed
  • Provide adhoc training on the change control process to engineers and operations teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to accurately process changes

What You’ll Bring

  • Education in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required or 3-5 years relevant work experience with engineering systems
  • Experience with PLM tools, Change Control and Configuration Management, manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate understanding of what constitutes a Bill of Material, knowledge of Change Control and Product Lifecycle Management standards
  • Hands on PLM/MRP/ERP systems experience, proficiency with Excel, knowledge in ENOVIA 3DExperience is a plus
  • End user support and problem resolution
  • Experience dealing with overlapping projects and shifting priorities within critical due dates
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
