Responsibilities

Reporting to the Building Services & Energy Manager, the Senior Plumber & Heating Engineer will help maintain and improve the College’s extensive range of buildings, which span from the 14th to the 21st century. The postholder will work on many different assets, including domestic and commercial heating systems, hot water systems, pumps and controls on both domestic and commercial properties.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To support and advise on all aspects of plumbing and heating, including recommendations for works on reactive and refurbishment projects.
  • Identify and report on the condition of heating and plumbing systems within the College.
  • Provide comprehensive lists of plumbing and heating materials required for projects, reactive works and standard stock items.
  • Maintain a standard plumbing and heating stock within the depot and order new parts and components as and when required.
  • To undertake planned and reactive maintenance work on College assets ensuring optimum serviceability, which meets agreed service levels and statutory regulations.
