The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects. The Strategic Policy & Planning branch provides strategic and integrated policy and project services for the department of Justice a wide range of programs and services under department legislation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years progressively responsible related policy development experience.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ministry of Justice is seeking 2 highly motivated and strategic Senior Policy Analysts to lead and coordinate the development and implementation of key policy initiatives. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to meaningful change within Alberta’s justice system.
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert analysis and advice on complex justice-related policy issues. You will work on high-priority projects, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide strategic support to senior leadership and elected officials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of strategic policy initiatives impacting Alberta’s justice system.
  • Conduct in-depth research and critical analysis to support evidence-based policy development.
  • Collaborate with internal Justice partners, other Government of Alberta ministries, stakeholders, and community organizations.
  • Provide strategic policy advice and recommendations to senior officials, including Directors, Executive Directors, Assistant Deputy Ministers, and the Deputy Minister.
  • Manage multi-stakeholder projects, develop implementation plans, monitor progress, and report outcomes.
  • Represent departmental interests in cross-ministry projects and intergovernmental initiatives.
