Description

ABOUT US

The Women, Family and Community Safety Directorate leads the development, implementation and monitoring of domestic and family violence (DFV) policies, programs and reforms across the Department of Communities and Justice.

The DFV Systems Reform branch in WFCS is responsible for policy and reform to our DFV response service systems, including:

  • evaluating and optimising our existing DFV program and service responses and developing new response service models where needed
  • investigating, optimising and reforming DFV responses across the justice system, specialist support services for DFV victim-survivors and inter-agency DFV responses such as Safer Pathway
  • improving key service enablers, including information sharing, risk assessment and referrals.

A key focus of the branch is working with the DFV service system to respond to the complexity of DFV. This includes working with intimate partner violence (IPV) and family violence and responding to the diversity of victim-survivors. The branch also has a role in direct service support and service provision through oversight of the Safer Pathway system and the DV Notify system.
