JOB SUMMARY

Take on a pivotal opportunity to help shape the UK’s future energy system at a time of rapid transformation. Ofgem is looking for a Senior Policy Lead to play a key role in ensuring energy networks support the UK’s decarbonisation goals while delivering long-term value for consumers.
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving towards Net Zero while protecting energy consumers, especially those in vulnerable circumstances.
This role offers the chance to manage critical policy development work surrounding electricity price controls, shaping our approach to infrastructure regulation. You’ll deliver robust, evidence-based policy recommendations, contribute to novel regulatory solutions, and ensure that price control design evolves and Great Britain can meet clean power targets by 2030 and achieve Net Zero by 2050.
You will have the chance to lead high-impact projects that will create real change in the industry, setting the standard for future sustainability and ensuring the country can meet its goals. What’s more, you’ll be vital in enabling outcomes that will support new legislation whilst ensuring consumers remain at the heart of national debates within the energy sector.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and has experience delivering strategic policy outcomes. This could come from backgrounds in regulation, strategy, commercial analysis, operational delivery, or public policy. You’ll need strong analytical and communication skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a collaborative approach to working across diverse teams.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, inclusive organisation that values diverse perspectives and supports your continued growth. We offer hybrid working, a comprehensive benefits package, and a culture that empowers employees to bring their authentic selves to work and make a meaningful difference.
We have a critical purpose to drive strategic improvements across our regulatory and operational functions that deliver for our Net Zero and sustainability goals. By joining us, you’ll help support innovation, accelerate decarbonisation, and protect consumers, now and for the future.
