Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria’s courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Legal, Policy, Economics or Political Science tertiary qualification or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution is highly desirable

Responsibilities

This role, within the Governance and Legal division of VCAT, provides policy, legal, risk, and project and governance support to the Tribunal Presdient and executive leadership. It is responsible for delivering expert advice and guidance to implement reforms and improvements, maage risk and governance, and ensure compliance with legal and statutory duties as stipulated in the relevant legislation.

The role will:

  • provide support by undertaking research and analysis, providing complex policy advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • produce briefs, comprehensive reports, discussion papersand cabinet and agency submissions on complex and sensitive issues
  • be responsible for liaising with senior stakeholders
  • draft correspondence, website content and formal instruments for consideration by senior decision-makers and governance committees
  • consider legislative reform and assess the implication of these on the Tribunal, applying specialise knowledge
  • develop and maintain productive and cooperative relationships across sectors
