ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you passionate about addressing violence, abuse and neglect and working to make health services accessible and culturally safe for Aboriginal people and families? This is a unique opportunity to make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of people in NSW, with a specific focus on Aboriginal people and communities, in an innovative and dynamic policy environment.
The Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Unit is the lead NSW Health Unit addressing the complex issues of preventing and responding to violence, abuse and neglect. Violence, abuse and neglect is an umbrella term for interpersonal violence that is widespread in Australian communities including domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and all forms of child abuse and neglect. The PARVAN Unit supports the NSW Health system to improve outcomes through integrated, culturally safe, high-quality, psychosocial and medical and forensic services and other strategic policy and capacity-building initiatives.
