APG is looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join its Private Equity Direct Ventures team, managing the ANEB mandate on behalf of ABP. CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for a decisive, entrepreneurial, and analytically strong professional who thrives in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and have a deep understanding of the energy/food/materials transition and related topics.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) or willingness to pursue one.
• 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience in M&A, private equity, venture capital, or asset management.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Deep understanding of energy transition, circularity, or sustainable food/agriculture.
• Passion for sustainable investing and measurable impact.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

You will work closely with the Fund Manager and fellow investment professionals to build and manage a portfolio of early-stage companies (Series A/B), contributing to long-term financial returns and measurable environmental impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investment Origination & Execution: Identify promising companies aligned with ANEB’s themes. Lead due diligence, develop investment proposals, and structure transactions.
• Portfolio Management: Co-manage existing holdings, maintain active engagement with portfolio companies, and monitor performance.
• Strategic Insight: Contribute to portfolio strategy and thematic positioning across energy transition, circularity, food & agri, and biodiversity.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent APG in interactions with founders, co-investors, and external partners.
• Reporting & Analysis: Deliver clear reporting on portfolio performance, market trends, and impact metrics.
