For company profile, please visit the website :- www.assystemstup.com Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Drainage / Hydrology Engineer to lead the planning, analysis, and design of surface and subsurface drainage systems for infrastructure and development projects. The role involves hydrological modeling, flood risk assessment, stormwater management design, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. Candidate shall have proven experience delivering end-to-end drainage design solutions across urban, industrial, highway, airport, seaport, and railway projects. Key Responsibilities Hydrology & Hydraulic Analysis Perform hydrological studies including rainfall-runoff analysis, watershed modeling, and flood estimation. Conduct hydraulic analysis for open channels, culverts, stormwater networks, and river systems. Develop floodplain maps and assess flood risks using appropriate models. Drainage Design Design stormwater drainage systems including: Roadside drainage (gutters, ditches) Culverts and cross-drainage works Stormwater pipelines and retention/detention systems Ensure efficient stormwater management while minimizing flood risks and erosion. Modeling & Software Use Utilize industry-standard tools such as: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS SWMM, MIKE FLOOD / MIKE URBAN Civil 3D, InfoWorks, or similar platforms Prepare model inputs, calibrate models, and interpret results for design optimization. Project Coordination Collaborate with civil, structural, environmental, and geotechnical teams. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and government authorities. Compliance & Standards Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and guidelines (IRC, MoRTH, local municipal requirements, international standards, etc.). Prepare reports, technical specifications, and design documentation for approvals. Risk & Sustainability Conduct climate resilience and flood risk assessments. Implement sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and low impact development (LID) solutions where applicable. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory) Master’s Degree in Hydrology / Water Resources Engineering (mandatory) Experience Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience Proven experience in: Highway or urban drainage projects Large infrastructure development Flood risk and hydrological assessments Technical Skills Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage engineering principles Proficiency in: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS SWMM / MIKE / InfoWorks AutoCAD / Civil 3D Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS/QGIS) preferred Postgraduate in Hydrology / Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) with 10+ years of proven experience delivering end-to-end drainage design solutions across urban, industrial, highway, airport, seaport, and railway projects. Demonstrated ability to independently plan, model, and optimize stormwater systems, from catchment analysis and concept stage through to detailed design and GFC deliverables. Strong command of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools (SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SewerCAD/Storm CAD, Civil 3D, QGIS, TUFLOW, MIKE, HY-8), applied to solve complex drainage challenges.
