The Engineer will be mainly responsible for performing power systems studies for electrical distribution and generation systems; developing power systems study reports; providing training and technical direction; and ensuring effective collaboration and communication across departments and with clients, suppliers, and contractors. Join us in this full time permanent role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion. Duties & Responsibilities: Expert in performing Power Systems Studies using ETAP/SKM (load flow, fault/arc flash calculations, protection & coordination, motor starting, Harmonics and grounding studies). Developing study and technical reports to ensure compliance with industry standards. Design Electrical systems for power generation and distribution by developing single line diagrams, schematics and layouts. When delegated, assumes a lead/sub-lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. Plan, coordinate or prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations, award recommendations and vendor document review for equipment in an EPC environment. Supports coordinating engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals. Support the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Supports in coordinating technical issues with other departments on projects including constructability requirements and reviews. Supports preparation of engineering deliverables such as: Single/Three line diagrams, control schematics, grounding and lighting drawings, cable schedules, panel schedules and electrical equipment data sheets; Equipment sizing, and electrical engineering/design calculations Contribute to the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Qualifications A recognized degree or diploma in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, OR a professional license in electrical engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board. Practical work experience in design and engineering is required. Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written). Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards. 15+ years electrical engineering experience in Power, Oil & Gas, or Minning projects in EPC environment. Previous supervisory and/or lead experience will be an asset.
