JOB TITLE: EXCEPTIONAL ROOM LEADER

Location: The Nursery, Portishead
Job Type: 40 hours (4 days per week)
Hourly rate: £14.52
Start date: Flexible, preferably as soon as possible

We are currently seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Senior Practitoner to join our team and help guide our youngest learners on their educational journey.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about early childhood education and committed to the well-being and development of children.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and team management.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with parents and families.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Level 3 or above.
  • Paediatric First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the pre-school setting, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of dedicated educators, providing support, training, and professional development.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate learning activities that promote children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safeguarding policies.
  • Monitor children’s progress and maintain accurate records of their development
  • Foster a positive and safe environment where children can freely explore and learn through play.
