DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced part-time Pre-Clinical Research Technician committed to animal welfare, ethical research practices, and excellence in animal care. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing both acute and recovery neurosurgeries in small and large animals, including rodents and sheep. The role will require strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and creativity in applying traditional surgical modalities to innovative medical device applications.

QUALIFICATION:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Biological Sciences or a related field.
· Proven hands-on experience in rodent handling, anesthesia administration, sterile surgical techniques, and post-operative care.
· Strong background in stereotactic neurosurgery and drug/device delivery methods.
· Demonstrated ability to innovate and problem-solve in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment to achieve results.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· A collaborative and flexible attitude.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $75.00 per hour

Responsibilities

· Perform acute and recovery neurosurgeries on rodents and sheep under sterile conditions, ensuring proper administration and monitoring of anesthesia.
· Conduct stereotactic surgical procedures for targeted delivery and implantation of biologics and medical devices into specific regions of the brain.
· Perform cardiac perfusions to prepare tissue for analysis.
· Handle rodents with care and expertise, including anesthesia administration, surgical preparation, and post-procedure monitoring and recovery.
· Troubleshoot and adapt experimental techniques to meet evolving project needs.
