What to Expect
You will be a key leader in the Tesla Energy Project Management Team– a team responsible for ensuring that EMEA Megapack “turnkey” projects are developed, procured, built and commissioned to the highest degree of quality and in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.
You will support multiple stages of this process, but your focus will be on the pre-construction phases, including project scoping, contract negotiations, advanced project scheduling, and tendering and procurement with suppliers and contractors. As a member of our committed, fast-moving team, you will display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape, helping to shape the success of projects that fundamentally change the world’s energy infrastructure in a high-degree-of-self-sufficiency environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the evaluation of potential new projects, assessing feasibility, optimal scope, risks, and value proposition while providing strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive cost estimates, incorporating project risks, procurement strategies, and long-term financial impacts.
- Create and refine detailed project schedules, integrating constraints, critical path items, and contingency planning to drive timely delivery.
- Support the creation and review of customer-facing proposal documents, such as scope summaries, EPC methodology descriptions, and organizational charts.
- Lead negotiations with our customers on the relevant project management related aspects, including negotiations on scope of work, pricing, project schedules, etc.
- Oversee the preparation of tender documents, specifications, and scopes of work; manage end-to-end tender processes, including tendering for civil/electrical works and HV/LV equipment.
- Facilitate high-level meetings and liaisons with customers, suppliers, and contractors to build partnerships, resolve issues proactively, and provide support to project deployment teams.
- Conduct site visits and evaluations for potential projects, providing senior-level insights on viability and optimization.
- Mentor junior team members, contribute to team development, and perform other strategic duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in the energy industry, with a strong emphasis on project development, cost estimation, procurement, and legal contracts; specific experience in medium/large-scale construction projects, battery storage, renewable energy, or HV/LV grid-connected projects is highly preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a track record of driving change, innovation, and self-sufficiency in an entrepreneurial setting.
- Proactive leadership mentality, with experience mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and working in environment that requires a high-degree-of-self-sufficiency.
- Strong strategic oversight skills, including the ability to maintain a high-level view, streamline processes, implement efficiencies, and prioritize tasks like tender returns in a timely manner.
- Exceptional team player with an analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation, demonstrated leadership in cross-functional settings, and the ability to communicate effectively with teams, contractors, and customers.
- Extensive experience with construction agreements, equipment supply agreements, requests for proposals, commercial bids, contract negotiations, and various conditions of contract; familiarity with international standards and regulations in the EMEA region.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office software and a genuine passion for engineering products and challenges that advance sustainable energy infrastructure.
