Role Overview:
The Senior PreSales Engineer is a key technical leader in the sales process, providing deep expertise and guidance throughout the sales cycle. With 10-12 years of relevant experience, or 12-15 years without a degree, the Senior PreSales Engineer brings extensive technical, industry, and product knowledge, with the ability to engage directly with clients without sales support. They are responsible for shaping the technical aspects of the sales process, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the Nuix solutions align with clients’ business needs.
This individual is expected to deliver high-quality work independently, mentor junior team members, and advise both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the strategic direction is clearly communicated. They will leverage their in-depth understanding of the Nuix platform, industry challenges, and customer requirements to drive successful engagements and contribute to the company’s overall success.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • BA/BS in a relevant field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Marketing, Economics) or 12-15 years of relevant experience without a college degree.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or a similar field within eDiscovery, forensics, or data analytics.
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience without a degree but with significant expertise in the field.
  • Proven experience working independently with minimal oversight, delivering quality results and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Nuix products and solutions, particularly in the context of eDiscovery, investigations, and data analytics.
  • Advanced understanding of data management, eDiscovery processes (EDRM), and technical architecture.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, cloud platforms, virtual machines, and basic networking protocols.

SALES & CLIENT ENGAGEMENT SKILLS:

  • Proven track record of managing complex, long sales cycles and working directly with senior clients and executives.
  • Ability to conduct high-level product demonstrations and presentations that address the needs and challenges of various stakeholder personas.
  • Strong skills in handling client objections and presenting the value of Nuix solutions in compelling ways.
Responsibilities
  • Domain Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in the eDiscovery, forensics, and data analytics industries, offering advanced insights into customer challenges and opportunities. Be able to frame Nuix’s perspective within these industries, providing counterpoints when necessary, and advising on how Nuix should evolve.
  • Client & Sales Engagement: Engage with clients directly to define project plans, milestones, and objectives, adjusting them based on emerging product capabilities. Provide answers on product roadmaps and key areas of functionality.
  • Stakeholder Dialogue: Engage deeply with customer personas to shift perspectives, build trust, and advise on aligning solutions with stakeholder objectives. Help clients define success milestones and metrics, ensuring alignment with the broader business goals.
  • Client Presentations & Closing: Take ownership of presenting complex material to clients, answering questions, and positioning Nuix as a trusted, expert consulting partner. Support Sales teams in finalizing the Closing Package and participate in Implementation Kickoffs.
  • Handling Objections: Contribute to the library of resources capturing objections, developing strategies for handling difficult questions, and guiding Sales teams in overcoming resistance. Engage in discussions with clients on challenging objections and help create urgency for decisions.
  • Customization of Nuix Advantage Packages: Advise clients on how to tailor Nuix Advantage packages to meet their specific needs, defining success milestones and ensuring that schedules align with client requirements.
  • Lifecycle Management: Understand the full lifecycle of the sales opportunity, identifying and filling any gaps needed to finalize deals. Support Sales teams in navigating through complex negotiations and finalizing agreements.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure a unified approach to client engagement and deliverables. Assist in defining clear, actionable next steps and timelines for client projects.
