Join a groundbreaking team driving Australia’s largest infrastructure T&D project. As a Senior Primary Electrical Engineer, you will be pivotal in delivering innovative, high-voltage substation designs (up to 500kV) for this nationally significant development in NSW.
This transformative project will feature cutting-edge transmission network infrastructure designed to revolutionize energy distribution across the region. The development includes the construction of advanced transmission lines and energy hubs to connect a vast network of solar and wind farms. These systems will work seamlessly to deliver clean, renewable power to homes and businesses, meeting the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions while supporting Australia’s transition to a greener future.

Key Responsibilities

• Led the detailed primary design of high-voltage substations, including bay elevations, busbar assemblies, and earthing layouts.
• Provide expert guidance for national tenders and project execution, ensuring designs meet client and industry standards.
• Develop innovative technical solutions for renewable energy projects and large-scale infrastructure upgrades.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare technical reports, and provide critical input during project scoping and execution phases.
• Collaborate closely with secondary, civil, and project delivery teams to ensure constructability and integration of designs.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, such as force calculations, lightning protection reports, and Safety in Design (SiD) registers.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their growth in technical expertise and project management skills.

Required Skills and Competencies
We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineer with a proven ability to deliver excellence in the T&D sector.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Extensive experience in primary design for high-voltage substations, including projects for major utilities.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards (e.g., AS2067) and a successful track record in delivering complex T&D projects.
• Proficiency in design tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and HV cable sizing software.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and projects while ensuring quality and timely outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Member of Engineers Australia (Chartered status preferred).
