1 Willow Close is a six bed bungalow located in Northampton and provide an overnight care service for adults over the age of 18 who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex health needs and who require specialist care.
1 Willow Close is a safe and secure environment where the highest standards of care are delivered. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing to those we care for by providing a person centred service and a relaxed ‘home from home’ environment taking into account their ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The service operates 24 hours a day , 365 days a year on a 24 hour rotational shift pattern inclusive of weekends and bank holidays as per rota.

The Senior Primary Nurse role is to provide direct support to the Operational Manager across a range of managerial and clinical functions to ensure the provision of the highest standards of care for users of the service. The Senior Primary Nurse will work clinical shifts on the unit and will also be allocated set supernumerary time each month.
The successful candidate will have noticeable leadership skills along with a strong drive to develop other members of the team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an experienced and committed team and the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the care team possesses the skills, knowledge and motivation to deliver the highest quality of care to service users with learning disabilities and complex health needs and their families.
The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical, team and communication skills together with vision and enthusiasm to develop 1 Willow Close’s service model. The successful candidate should be RNLD qualified or equivalent qualification and have at least 2 years post registration nursing experience. You need to be able to demonstrate quality in delivery of nursing care and the clinical environment. The successful applicant will be a forward-thinking nurse, who will lead and coach staff by example.

The successful candidate will ensure NICE and MCA standards are upheld and work to uphold NMC’s code of practice whilst ensuring all relevant policies are in place, reviewed and updated as and when necessary (e.g. service guidelines/patient information) in liaison with the Operational Manager and care team.
The successful candidate will provide support for the Operational Manager in delivering Clinical Leadership for the nursing team and ensure clinical records are well maintained and systems are in place for staff to communicate effectively on clinical issues.
