Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Principal Architect – Operational Technology (OT) Solutions to lead the architectural design and delivery of Operational Technology (OT) solutions in the utility sector, including electric, gas, and water utilities. This role is responsible for defining end-to-end OT solution architecture, aligning with enterprise IT/OT strategies, and overseeing delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-workstream programs involving SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, AMI, EMS, and other critical infrastructure systems.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in OT/IT convergence, digital grid modernization, and cybersecurity, and is capable of engaging with executive stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies to drive transformational outcomes.
Responsibilities:

CYBERSECURITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure solutions meet or exceed NERC CIP, IEC 61850, and other regulatory/cybersecurity standards.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to conduct risk assessments and define controls for OT environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in OT/IT architecture and delivery within the utility or energy sector.
  • Deep technical knowledge of utility OT platforms such as SCADA, EMS, ADMS, OMS, AMI, and DERMS.
  • Proven expertise in systems integration, network architecture, real-time data platforms, and protocols (e.g., DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus).
  • Experience with cloud, edge, and hybrid OT architectures.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (NIST, NERC CIP) and resilience planning for critical infrastructure.
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience, including RFPs, solution evaluations, and contract oversight.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
