SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates will be expected to have:

  • Between 3 and 5 years’ experience of working in the construction industry e.g. surveying, sustainability consultancy, architecture, planning, construction, M & E.
  • A relevant degree in either Engineering, Physics, Maths, Sustainability etc.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Planning Issues.
  • Experience of industry design software such as IES VE, SketchUp, AutoCAD, CFD etc.
  • Experience in using CAD software such as Sketch Up / Rhino / Grasshopper.
  • Experience in using IES / Design Builder and Radiance / Ladybug tools.
  • Experience with GLA planning requirements.
  • Experience in operational Energy modelling (TM54 etc).
  • Experience undertaking overheating/daylight assessments and thermal bridging.
  • Experienced in IES Apache HVAC for detailed energy modelling.

The job will be full-time and based in central Guildford, Surrey. Salary will be based on experience and ability.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide clients with high-quality technical and strategic advice on a broad range of building physics services, including Thermal Comfort & Overheating, Building Regulations Compliance, SAP/SBEM, Thermal Bridging, Energy Strategy, Energy Statements, Daylight Sunlight & Overshadowing, Internal Daylight Modelling, LZC Feasibility Studies.
  • Work with design teams on range of innovative and high profile developments.
  • Prepare high quality reports for clients.
  • Play an active part in SRE’s growing team.
  • Manage Key Client Accounts, developing long-term and constructive relationships.
