You will work with the team to advance their technical stack and their DevOps processes. You will also play a pivotal role in advancing our AI/ML initiatives by helping to design and implement the necessary architecture and infrastructure to enable effective data consumption by AI/ML tools. This position requires highly effective collaboration with a diverse set of multidisciplinary personnel within the organization, the Z Operations group (1670), and the 1600 Pulsed Power Sciences center. The ability to synthesize complex problems, navigate ambiguity, and adapt to emergent issues in a fast-paced environment is key to this position.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Analyze, design, develop, and deploy full-stack .NET web applications to support the diverse Z Machine community.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of AI/ML solutions, including developing data architectures and APIs, data preprocessing, model training, and deployment.
  • Maintain and implement improvements to existing software solutions and processes.
  • Research, develop, and implement technical and process improvements to the team’s development practices (e.g., technical stack, DevOps pipeline, testing frameworks, agile methodologies).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide insights and best practices for system design and data organization.
  • Deploy and support hardware devices as needed to enhance Z Operations (e.g., tablets, kiosks, information displays).
  • React quickly to troubleshoot and solve problems that impact the ability to operate the Z Machine.
  • Create reports and assemble metrics as required.
  • Work as a member of an agile development team.

Hybrid Work: The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
