REQUIREMENTS

  • A Relevant Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology
  • 7-12 years’ background within the geotechnical, remediation and/or geo-environmental consultancy industries
  • Background working on construction sites to a high standard of health and safety
  • First class analytical and technical writing abilities are important
  • Chemical analysis interpretation for risk assessment
  • Waste classification (Haz waste online)
  • Production of Method Statements and Risk / COSHH Assessments
  • QP, Materials Management Plan, Exemptions & Permitting
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A flexible and collaborative attitude to solving problems in a non-hierarchal environment
  • Full valid UK driving licence
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical lead of the business
  • Delivering technical works for the contaminated land consultancy & remediation contracting part of the business (typically phase 1 & 2 reports, remediation strategy & validation/ verification works).
  • Occasionally required to plan and undertake site work depending on available resources. Most works will be within the Northwest; some work further afield may be required
  • Management & development of junior staff
  • Work winning & commercial aptitude
  • Site Investigation, Sampling and testing
  • Report writing & peer review
  • Ability to communicate confidently to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Subcontractor selection and management
  • Delivery of projects safely and within budget
