BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer with Java, Java Spring Boot and 8 to 10+ years of backend or full-stack development.

Objectives of this role:

• Subject matter expert in software design and development best-practices.
• Willing and able to tackle the most complex software requirements
• Communicate regularly with the customer, management, partners, and the development team.
• Mentors to junior level software engineers. Software design and development
• Produce quality code, raising the bar for team performance and speed
• Recommend systems solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and cutting-edge alternatives

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed more than 50% on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility >50% of the time.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

• Experience with Agile software development
• Experience with a cloud environment (AWS or Azure)
• Knowledge of the DevSecOps development process
• Experience with Git
