WHAT YOUR JOB WILL BE LIKE
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to join our Emergency Management team.
QUALIFICATIONS WE REQUIRE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus (5) years of experience, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of some of the following Windows Desktop and Server System Administration:
- End-User Application Support
- System Setup
- Active Directory Support
- Account Management
- File services
- Network Configuration
- Application Hosting
- Computer and Networking Troubleshooting
- Familiarity with firewall technology & management of private LANs/networks.
- Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies.
- Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
QUALIFICATIONS WE DESIRE
- Previous experience in the service or installation of audio, video, and/or audiovisual, presentation systems.
- Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance with reciprocity.
- InfoComm CTS certification and any other industry related certifications or training (e.g., Crestron, BIAMP, Extron, QSC, Microsoft TEAMs, Shure).
- Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
- Wide-ranging and in-depth experience with expert knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply information systems technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of ongoing trends in the information systems field and the ability to understand and work with new and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of information systems engineering tools and techniques, development, application, and management.
- Frequently contributes to the development of new methods and is considered an internal expert in the information systems engineering field.
- Formal training, or equivalent experience, in information systems engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer science principles dealing with complexity, scalability, robustness, integrity, correctness, and protocols.
- Ability to demonstrate total quality principles.
- Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes.
- Ability to translate technical terms to layperson’s terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization.
- Ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently, be self-directed and make sound decisions based on customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Emergency management-related knowledge and/or experience.
NNSA REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDPEDS
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
