OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior & Principal Systems Architects with extensive years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the defence industry and expertise in systems engineering, verification, project management, and documentation. We are looking for Engineers who promote a mindset of attention to detail, communication, and teamwork within the team. Candidates with a good understanding of all aspects of Systems Engineering relating to lifecycle processes and methodologies should apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Applicable and suitable experience can be substituted for qualifications.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of naval combat systems, sensors, and underwater systems integration
  • Skilled in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and architecture frameworks (e.g. MODAF, TOGAF)
  • Strong cross-disciplinary technical leadership and communication skills

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to analyse complex technical problems and generate effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in system architecture for complex defence platforms.
  • Domain Knowledge: Submarine or wider Maritime Defence experience preferred; SONAR experience is a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a Systems Architect for the customers Underwater Systems Division, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining high-level architectures for ASW systems, ensuring technical coherence across platforms, sensors, and software. You will work at the intersection of operational concepts, customer needs, and technical delivery, translating complex requirements into system-level designs that meet capability, cost, and schedule objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and own the system architecture for ASW programmes, ensuring alignment with operational and customer needs
  • Develop architecture frameworks, models, and interface definitions across disciplines
  • Drive system-level design decisions, trade studies, and risk assessments
  • Ensure architectural compliance with engineering management plans and industry standards
  • Contribute to capture planning, bid activities, and solution roadmaps
