YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential:

  • HNC, HND, degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience within a similar manufacturing process environment
  • A good understanding of project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques

Desirable:

  • A recognised qualification in management – ILM Level 3 or equivalent, or experience of managing people
  • NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is desirable
Responsibilities
  • Liaising with the Operational management team on a daily basis to determine business priorities, delegate tasking daily in line with current priorities
  • Provide the appropriate level of training to Process/Manufacturing Engineers to ensure a level of competency is established in order for PE/ME‘s to carry out their daily duties
  • Govern all aspects of Process/Manufacturing Engineering in support of Operations, ensure all processes in PE/ME area of responsibility are carried out in a safe manner to ensure process risks are ALARP
  • Manage the Process/Manufacturing Engineering team as the first line manager, set personal objectives in accordance with business strategic goals, mentor personnel to provide support in achieving personal objectives
  • Approve Process/Manufacturing Engineering PRR, audit processes in PE/ME area of responsibility to ensure compliance with product and process design parameters
  • Liaise with Product Engineering Managers to facilitate the compilation of Basis of Safety, provide PE/ME resource to support PFMEA, PCP, LOPA, SIL assessment
  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work documentation is compliant with current BMS policy and recognized industry best practice
  • Manage new products and processes into manufacture, liaise with design engineering to review and develop manufacturing processes
  • Review and approve functional and non-functional specification for plant and equipment, approve trials and commissioning plans, authorize equipment for installation into hazardous and non-hazardous process areas
  • Plan and design methods to improve efficiency and product quality by mentoring the PE/ME team in Continuous Improvement techniques, support business Lean ‘six sigma’ projects
  • As ‘Process Champion’ carry out independent verification of competency assessment to ensure first line trainers and assessors are proficient in the assessment process
  • Support the site COMAH report submission; assign PE/ME resource to assist with compilation of high hazard risk assessment as Process Technical Authority
