An exciting opportunity exists within a specialist engineering organisation in Melbourne. They are growing their Technical Division and are looking to hire a Senior Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
This position would suit a Senior Engineer from the water industry, an individual with a passion to help improve the environment, a professional with excellent metallurgical, composite, strategic planning and research and development skills.
The Company are well known for their cutting-edge research and product development, metallurgical and materials research as well as driving new and innovative engineering solutions for their clients. They work with several companies across diverse Engineering sectors, some of which include but are not limited to; coal, gold, and lithium mine sites, water and wastewater plants, chemical and power plants. They offer effective engineering research and design, both greenfield and brownfield, manufacture, build, brownfield optimisation, project management, and installation.
Within this position, you will apply your Chemical or Process Engineering skills to conduct research and development of new and existing customer water distribution networks (collected and treated before distributed). Creating reports based on test data, for piped water networks while assisting with 3d and 3d design.

Responsibilities:

  • Have a passion for the water industry and the environment, this position is a hybrid type role offering a good mix of mechanical, chemical, process engineering work
  • Project Manage from proposal to completion of projects – design and business case development
  • Develop your skills to become a subject matter expert across Dewatering and Slurry Transportation with a focus on rheology and or hydraulics associated with solids transport
  • Extensive practical and theoretical R&D work
  • Physics R&D, including but not limited to rheology, the flow of matter, the non-Newtonian flow of liquids and the plastic flow of solids within their client’s mining and water-based products
  • Preparation of process design drawings PFD, P&ID’s and more
  • Equipment monitoring for preventative maintenance
  • Design of separation equipment
  • Pipeline integrity and flow monitoring
  • Safe delivery and handover of projects within agreed parameters of time, cost and QA/QC & OH&S standards
