About Us – Mako Mining Corp is a publicly listed gold mining, development and exploration company. The Company operates the high-grade San Albino gold mine in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, which ranks as one of the highest-grade open pit gold mines globally and offers district-scale exploration potential. Mako also owns the Moss Mine in Arizona, an open pit gold mine in northwestern Arizona. Mako also holds a 100% interest in the PEA-stage Eagle Mountain Project in Guyana, South America. Eagle Mountain is the subject of engineering, environmental and mine permitting activity. Mako US Corp (a subsidiary of Mako Mining Corp.) is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Senior Process Engineer – Mining Projects (Design & Construction).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s, or master’s, degree in metallurgical, Chemical, or Process Engineering
  • 8+ years of gold processing experience, including CIL/CIP operations; experience in heap leach processing a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in flowsheet development, cost/recovery estimation, and project evaluation
  • Previous involvement in greenfield or major brownfield project development highly desirable
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record in process optimization, troubleshooting, and operational support
  • Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and innovation
  • A valid passport is required for international travel

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead evaluation and selection of the preferred gold extraction route (heap leach, CIL/CIP, gravity, floatation, or hybrid)
  • Oversee metallurgical test programs, trade-off studies, and process design criteria for feasibility and early-stage studies
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, recovery forecasts, and economic models to support project decision-making
  • Provide technical leadership during engineering design, equipment selection, and process layout development
  • Oversee commissioning and ramp-up, ensuring safe and efficient startup of mill circuits, ADR plants, and/or heap launch pads
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level metallurgists and process engineers
  • Establish metallurgical accounting, mass balance systems, and process monitoring tools
  • Collaborate with corporate, mining, geology, and environmental teams to integrate process design with the broader mine plan
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards in all aspects of design and operation
