Description

Join Paebbl, a dynamic and innovative founder-led start-up at the forefront of climate technology and the emerging ‘carbon economy’. Our mission is to revolutionize CO2 sequestration by accelerating natural mineralization processes a million-fold, turning captured CO2 into essential products, replacing carbon-emitting commodities by carbon-sinks.
We are backed by supportive, long-term oriented institutional and private investors, and our team features a diverse group of experts from technology, industrial engineering, digital innovation, waste management, finance, and academia. We believe strongly in digital augmentation to accelerate rapid technology and company development.
We are now ready for scale-up and for that we are seeking process engineers who can help us realize the best technical solutions and de-bottleneck the realisation of these process designs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead process design, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts across our operations. This role requires a deep understanding of physics and chemical engineering principles, a strong background in process simulation, and a proven ability to manage complex projects.
To adapt to the fast changes it is necessary to be well versed in conceptual thinking and being quick on your feed with a ‘order of magnitude’ calculation to asses feasibility.
The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring process safety, and delivering innovative solutions that support the company’s strategic goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field is preferred.
  • 8+ years in Process engineering, with experience high pressure and temperature processes. And 5+ years in operational or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in innovative technologies (e.g. CO2 capture, renewable energy/fuels, or plastic recycling) and/or start-up or scale-up environments is highly valued.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading innovative process design and optimization projects.
  • Fully mastery of the basics of Process engineering for the chemical industry (e.g. Aspen, Hazops, P&ID’s, etc).
Responsibilities
  • Lead design, development, and optimization of chemical and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Including documentation (PFD, P&ID).
  • Apply conceptual, creative and flexible thinking for innovative process development across all techniques using ‘first principle’ thinking. You should also be able to lead basic engineering and FEED activities and provide oversight with engineering contractors during detailed engineering and procurement phases of a project.
  • Utilize advanced process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, ChemCAD) to model, analyse and improve processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product development and R&D, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP) and ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, ISO).
  • Diagnose (RCA) and solve complex process-related issues to enhance operational reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste and costs.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
