Description

Job Description
BlueScope is an Australian-born global success story spanning 15 countries. Our team of over 16,500 people is our strength and we want our people to be safe, successful and well. We’re leaders and innovators in transforming steel into smart products and solutions that support society, today and in the future. We’re proud of brands, like COLORBOND ® steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Senior Process Intelligence Engineer, initially in a 2-year fixed term contract, in our Digital Transformation team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products (ASP) portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
We’re looking for someone who is as technically skilled as they are curious — someone who uses data to uncover stories, reveal patterns, and spark solutions that transform how manufacturing operates. In this role, you’ll lead the adoption of our Process Intelligence toolkit across ASP Manufacturing, scaling proven solutions from single sites into business-wide impact.
This is your chance to influence how predictive analytics, advanced monitoring, and data-driven decision-making shape the future of our operations — creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable performance across our network.

Responsibilities

In this newly created role, you’ll be building standardised frameworks, replicating proven solutions across sites, and ensuring predictive analytics and advanced monitoring deliver transformational uplift.

  • lead multi-site process intelligence roadmaps, ensuring solutions are replicated quickly and effectively across sites
  • partner closely with operations and functional teams to set the strategic direction for data governance and data definitions
  • establish interoperability across tools, datasets, and departments to reduce duplication and break down silos
  • mentor analysts, champions, and leaders to build local ownership of tools and insights, growing long-term capability and resilience
  • deliver measurable improvements in yield, quality, safety, and efficiency through actionable insights
