Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Purchaser to join our team. The Senior Purchaser will play a pivotal role in managing our company’s procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain management, and a proven track record of optimizing purchasing strategies to drive operational efficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and budgetary constraints.
  • Identify reliable suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain beneficial relationships to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to anticipate potential disruptions and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads and project managers, to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
  • Conduct thorough vendor evaluations and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical business practices.
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Analyze purchasing data and metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing procurement best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and new sourcing opportunities to enhance procurement capabilities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior purchasing staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher Nitec/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a purchasing manager or senior procurement specialist, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, contract negotiation techniques, and vendor management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is desirable.
