Hudson placed number five on Forbes 2023 list of distinguished small companies.  Position Overview The Sr. Procurement Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, will oversee procurement and sourcing activities across both direct and indirect spend. This includes finished goods, bulk gases, cylinders, and other packaging materials. The role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that support business continuity, secure long-term supply of raw materials, ensure competitive pricing aligned with market conditions, and drive margin optimization. In addition, this position will design and develop the procurement organization with a strong focus on employee growth and development. Roles and Responsibilities * Oversee procurement and sourcing for direct and indirect spend, including finished goods, bulk gases, cylinders, and packaging materials. * Design, develop, and lead the procurement organization, with an emphasis on talent development and performance management. * Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and streamline purchasing processes. * Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted product availability. * Support business continuity and secure long-term supply of raw materials. * Ensure supplier pricing reflects current market conditions while supporting margin optimization objectives. * Manage supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and cost standards. * Oversee contract development and negotiations, ensuring compliance with terms, lead times, and conditions while managing risk exposure. * Develop and manage vendor scorecards to track supplier performance, risk, and continuous improvement opportunities. * Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply risks to support proactive sourcing decisions. * Build strong internal partnerships across operations, finance, sales, and logistics, ensuring superior communication. * Proactively escalate gaps, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership to support timely, data-driven decision making. * Serve as a senior advisor to executive management on procurement strategy, supplier performance, and risk management. * Create and maintain a strategic sourcing repository and partner with senior leadership to define and execute supplier strategies. * Manage EPA allowance allocation and ensure timely, accurate data availability for internal and external reporting. * Represent the company at industry forums and supplier meetings to identify collaboration opportunities. * Monitor procurement budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics, identifying cost-reduction and value-creation opportunities. * Deliver regular reporting on procurement effectiveness, supplier performance, risk management, and contract status. Required Education and Experience:                                                  * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field, required. * 10+ years' procurement experience, ideally in commodity purchases * Demonstrated expertise in negotiating supplier contracts, including terms & conditions and managing relationships with pricing models. * Proven track record of driving process improvements within complex supply chains including vendor management analysis. * Effective people management and leadership skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office software; data analysis tools; online contract management systems. * Familiarity with the HVAC/R industry and/or compressed gas industries, preferred. * The position is based in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, or one of the operating plants.  * Some Remote work is possible.
