Responsibilities

    We are looking for a strategic and driven Senior Procurement Manager to join our sector-leading Integrated Commissioning and Procurement Team. This is a pivotal role in a high-performing, collaborative environment that supports service delivery across both Manchester and Bolton Councils.
    You’ll lead on complex, high-value procurement projects and play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, embedding best practice, and delivering outcomes aligned with the Our Manchester Strategy. Your work will directly contribute to reducing inequalities, promoting social value, and advancing our carbon reduction goals.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll:

  • Lead strategic procurement projects across goods, services, and construction
  • Provide expert advice to the North West Construction Hub and Capital Programmes Team
  • Drive innovation and compliance under the Procurement Act 2023 and the National Procurement Policy statement
  • Represent the councils at regional and national forums
  • Mentor junior staff and support the development of procurement capacity across the councils
