Senior Procurement Officer - Full Responsibility for Procurement UGL delivers some of Australia’s most critical infrastructure across transport, defence, and the power and renewables sectors. Within UGL, the Utilities Operations & Maintenance business supports electricity distribution networks across Australia through long term maintenance programs. This involves ongoing supplier engagement, managing long‑term service arrangements that keep the network safe, reliable, and operating day‑to‑day. In this role, you’ll be the sole procurement resource for the Utilities O&M business, supporting all programs and projects nationally and can be based out of our office in Brisbane, Melbourne, or North Sydney. Variety every day, no two weeks look the same. About the role This role supports ongoing maintenance work and new projects as they’re won. The work isn’t always predictable, priorities shift, needs evolve, and procurement plays a key role in keeping things moving. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, operational leaders and project teams, the role spans sourcing and RFQs through to award, purchasing, supplier management and tender support. It’s fast‑paced, hands‑on, and suited to someone who can respond to immediate needs while navigating future procurement needs. Key responsibilities End‑to‑end procurement for the Utilities O&M business, from supplier sourcing, RFQs, evaluation, award and onboarding, ensuring approvals, compliance and performance, through to purchasing and ongoing supplier management. Procure equipment, vehicles, materials, and supporting assets for network maintenance, including EWP/bucket and cable reeler trucks, wire stringing equipment, tools, warehouse inventory, and property needs across existing and emerging sites. Provide procurement input into tenders, supporting commercial outcomes across the business. Shape your career with an Individual Development Plan. About you Experience in a similar procurement role within a relevant industry such as utilities, energy, construction or infrastructure. Comfortable operating as the sole procurement resource, managing high‑value and varied spend across equipment, services and materials. Strong working knowledge of procurement systems and governance, ideally in SAP‑based environments. A proactive, practical mindset with the ability to understand safety‑critical operational requirements, learn the business quickly, and balance being responsive with looking ahead.
