A Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for timely planning, sourcing and completing all aspects of third party onboarding, organized by specific lines of business, as well as supporting existing contracts. They manage third party relationships, working with business units to rationalize the number of suppliers. (Category Management) They complete full due diligence in collaboration with key internal partners in support of our TPRM Framework and maintain all associated documentation.
Senior Procurement Specialists build relationships with suppliers to facilitate the sourcing process and negotiate deals and contracts with suppliers to ensure budgetary compliance. Moreover, they also draft contracts that will be reviewed by both the company and suppliers. Lastly, they must understand the company’s and business units’ strategy, aligning sourcing needs to match.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partner with Business Units to drive the choice of vendor partners and contract using industry knowledge and contacts, ensuring effective and fulsome solutions are delivered at a competitive cost.
  • Manage the competitive procurement process, including the development of RFx and other solicitation documents, securing approvals, coordinating questions and responses, preparing and issuing clarifying addenda, and managing the receipt of submissions, all in accordance with procurement policies and standards and ensuring an open, fair and transparent process is adhered to throughout.
  • Manage single source contracting as needed, ensuring all internal policy and standards are followed.
  • Manage the preparation and issuance of contracts & amendments; ensuring compliance with applicable standards and policies, ensuring that references to terms, conditions, appendices and other relevant documentation are structured accurately and consistently.
  • Ensure all due diligence requirements are completed, in collaboration with key internal partners such as legal, risk, security, compliance.
  • Ensure all Procurement procedures are followed, including but not limited to documentation, communication, compliance and risk components.
  • Ability to manage and organize a high level and volume of information, applying appropriate prioritization.
  • Exceptional approach to client service and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work within a variety of team environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, facilitation and project management skills

QUALIFICATIONS

Post secondary education is required
SCMP Certification is preferred
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience is required
Professional direct sourcing/procurement experience, both RFx and single sourcing.
Experience across multiple spend categories; IT, Claims, Security, Fleet Management, Environmental, Shared Services.
Knowledge of relevant risk and regulatory requirements.
Practical application of analysis, project delivery practices and standards.
