KPNX 12NEWS, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, is looking for a Senior Producer to bring energy, creativity, and urgency to our news coverage on broadcast, digital and streaming. As Senior Producer, you will work closely with the news team to aggressively chase and produce live breaking news and weather coverage for broadcast and streaming. The Senior Producer will collaborate with reporters and digital producers to elevate storytelling on a daily basis. The Senior producer will work with producers and the technical crew to create engaging, multiplatform content.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in news production, live television, or content creation
  • Flawless organizational and time management skills—you thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • A cool head under pressure—breaking news and last-minute changes don’t faze you.
  • Strong social media instincts—you know what’s trending and how to capitalize on it.
  • A deep understanding of journalism ethics—accuracy, fairness, and community engagement are key.
  • A passion for storytelling, a love for live TV, and a hunger to innovate.
Responsibilities
  • You will work with producers daily to make sure newscasts are accurate and living up to the 12News brand “Dedicated to Journalism. Dedicated to you.”
  • You will oversee quality control for broadcasts, digital and streaming content
  • You will work with producers to creatively enhance the production and presentation of the newscasts through writing, graphics and video
  • You will work with producers to create compelling segments, stories and teases to keep viewers on broadcast and streaming engaged longer
  • You will work with digital producers on coverage to drive traffic on website, phone app, streaming app and social media.
  • You will plan and execute a daily and on-going content calendar aimed at engaging news consumers, increasing digital traffic and increasing viewers on broadcast and streaming.
  • You will work closely with digital producers to ensure we are posting breaking and developing news fast and accurately.
  • You will produce and/or oversee the production of breaking news coverage on live streams and broadcasts
  • You must be able to step in and produce both newscasts and digital content as needed.
