What You’ll Do as a Senior Project Assurance Engineer:
As a Senior Project Assurance Engineer, you will be a key member of both the ECRS MK2 Radar Quality team and the Integrated Project Teams (IPT). You will play a critical role in ensuring that all allocated projects meet the highest quality standards and satisfy customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Act as a key contributor to the success of projects by ensuring the completion of quality assurance activities defined by the IPT, adapting to changing project needs and ensuring alignment with the program’s objectives.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Engage with operational and IPT risks and opportunities, taking a leadership role when appropriate to drive progress and ensure these risks are effectively mitigated or leveraged.
- Internal Assessments & Risk Management: Collaborate with the IPT lead to agree on internal risk-based assessments, managing any findings to closure and ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Data Analysis & Decision Support: Analyse and communicate critical information to support decision-making, ensuring that the IPT has the necessary data for effective escalations and decision-making processes.
- Non-Conformance & Failure Management: Take leadership in managing instances of non-conformance and failures, working collaboratively with the IPT Peer Group to achieve dependable closure, both internally and with external suppliers.
- Mentorship & Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Assurance team, helping to build their skills and ensure the ongoing success of the team.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
To succeed in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and experience:
- Educational Background: Ideally, a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or relevant experience within Defence, Electronics, or similarly complex industries.
- Quality Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of governance, AS9100/ISO9001 standards, and continuous improvement practices, with a proven track record of applying these principles in complex engineering environments.
- Lifecycle Support & Design Assurance: Experience providing development and design assurance support throughout the lifecycle stages of projects, ensuring quality throughout all phases.
- Quality Tools Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in quality tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical thinking abilities, with the capacity to analyse complex data, identify actionable insights, and provide practical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Interpersonal & Collaborative Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative working style that fosters strong relationships across all functions within the business.
- Time Management & Prioritization: Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues as needed to ensure project success.
- Customer & Supplier Interaction: Demonstrated experience working with both customers and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met and maintained.
