Work Environment: NGL offers a flexible work environment where employees can work fully remote, hybrid or onsite at our Madison, Wis. office. We support virtual working arrangements in certain states outside of WI.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, paralegal studies, or related insurance or financial field preferred.
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree Associate degree and equivalent experience in insurance compliance would apply.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in insurance compliance, paralegal, financial or related insurance fields required, or seven years of experience related to the insurance industry, with progressive responsibilities in insurance contract analysis and/or audit, and insurance regulation review.

Responsibilities
  • Product Development, and Policy Form & Rate Filing
  • Assist with product development and filing, including drafting contracts and related policy forms, and communicating filing priorities and approval status. Coordinate rate filings with actuarial staff.
  • Coordinate the state form filing and approval process to include preparing the form filing packages in conformance with regulatory requirements and responding to state objections.
  • Primary contact for regulators on filing questions or objections.
  • Submit policy form and rate filings electronically using SERFF, and other state filing platforms.
  • Coordinate, as needed, with third party filing services who are filing Group Markets policy forms for National Guardian Life.
  • Provide support and direction to outside Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and Marketing Partners to ensure the correct issuance and administration of policy forms and provide interpretation of policy language.
  • Maintain database containing all form filing and approval information.
  • Work with Fulfilment Services to build and maintain the NGL Supply Site pages with the available policy form libraries for TPAs.
  • Due Diligence Review and Audits
  • As requested by the product teams, assist in the collection of information on potential business partners to evaluate their financial stability and integrity, along with assessing their ability to perform administrative, marketing and reinsurance obligations in a timely and accurate manner. Assume primary responsibility for evaluating the legal and compliance information collected.
  • Support Compliance audit staff as needed with annual desk audits of selected business partners
  • Review Group Markets advertising materials for compliance with NGL and state requirements.
  • Regulatory
  • Research and communicate requirements of state and federal laws that relate to Employee Benefits, Long Term Care, and BrightBenefits products.
  • Review, distribute and explain new state insurance department bulletins applicable to Employee Benefits, Long Term Care, and BrightBenefits, products.
  • Contact state regulators for research and filing purposes, on an as needed basis.
