About the role

We’re looking for an engineer with at least 3–5 years’ product development experience and a proven ability to take products from concept through research, opportunity identification, engineering, prototyping, validation and into production.

You’ll be equally comfortable developing and analysing ideas in SolidWorks as you are heading into the workshop to build, test and refine them.

You’ll bring:

·        Strong engineering analysis and problem-solving capability

·        Experience designing across a wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes

·        Strong understanding of design for manufacture and assembly

·        Excellent hands-on prototyping and workshop skills

·        Experience with testing, validation and engineering products for production

·        Curiosity and a passion for innovation and doing things differently

·        A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute ideas, challenge thinking and solve problems as part of a team

·        Advanced CAD skills - SolidWorks is preferred.

What you'll do

Working closely with industrial designers, engineers and manufacturing partners, you’ll contribute across the full development process – opportunity research, developing concepts, creating detailed SolidWorks models, undertaking engineering analysis, building and testing prototypes, solving manufacturing challenges and helping take products into high-volume production.

At Formway we prototype early and often, combining CAD and engineering analysis with rapid prototyping, specialist suppliers and our in-house workshop to develop and prove ideas.
