Description
Company Founded in Berlin, autarc is a ~40 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator’s S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering & Product department currently ~20 people, as we continue to grow throughout the year. Role description We're looking for a Product Designer to work within a new vertical in the team to support our Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) products, most notably alongside our Heating team (although it's an overarching role whilst things evolve). In working with multiple experienced Engineers and a dedicated Product Manager you'll enhance and optimise the company's main money maker and what got us here today - the OS for heat pump installers. In addition, you'll need to build and ship fast in getting prototypes out to market in genuinely understanding what works and what doesn't We're always looking to build the next generation product and with a clear vision to become the agentic OS for the workforce behind the energy transition, that includes leveraging LLMs and NLP in building an AI voice agent to increase efficiencies. Other responsibilities will be as follows: Build prototypes based on user feedback and customer interests Work heavily on UX/UI, using Figma and other cutting edge tools (Lovable, Cursor) to build things 0-1 Support leadership in shaping and prioritising the product roadmap Run product discovery alongside our teams through direct customer engagement Manage product operations in Linear: triage, prioritisation, sprint hygiene Facilitate planning sessions with product teams and sprint preps with engineering leads Represent autarc in customer calls, sales meetings, and training sessions Work alongside our Engineers in building and shipping material This is a Product Designer position but as the landscape of the industry shifts, we also expect you to build and tangibly contribute on a day-to-day basis. Requirements 2-5 years of experience as a Product Designer A strong eye for detail, covering UX and UI Exposure to working in B2B SaaS Deep experience working with Figma, plus working with Lovable, Cursor and so on AI-native in working with tools to help you run faster and jump higher Desire to work in an AI-first team/company Shown ability to conduct user interviews and product discovery Berlin-based and willing to work hybrid Native German speaking What we offer Freedom to choose your own equipment (within a budget) 26 paid vacation days An annual team retreat The choice between Dance or JobRad for mobility The choice between Classpass or Urban Sports Club for fitness Regular team events, lunches and activities Our values Next steps If your application is successful, you will participate in the following: Screening call with Louis (Recruiter) Culture fit call with a Designer Take home case study/exercise Final on-site interview with Etienne (CEO) and the team About us Right now, 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe are caused by heating our buildings. In order for this to be reduced, the transition towards renewable energy needs to be simplified and made more accessible. There are too few installers to meet the growing demand for heat pumps, and a solution to match this trend needs to be brought to the market. autarc is developing the leading operating system (OS) for heat pump installers, enabling a more digital and efficient installation process for heat pumps. Through this, autarc is reducing the hurdles to decarbonizing single-family homes and small apartment buildings in Europe, with the goal to help with the planning and designing of 1 million heat pumps by 2030.
