Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer with a passion for building technical tools. You’ll be working on the Dynamic Instrumentation team, which is responsible for providing real-time, code-level visibility into applications. As a key part of the Developer Experience organization, these tools are central to troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing performance in production environments. You’ll design user flows across IDEs and the Dynamic Instrumentation interface and create innovative ways for developers to instrument, observe, and debug their applications. You’ll advocate for usability in complex workflows and have the opportunity to define new features and evolve core experiences in collaboration with highly engaged users.
You’ll act as a leader within the product design team, collaborating with other designers to make their work and the whole team better. You’ll not only own the success or failure of your design work, but you’ll also help other designers communicate their ideas and support their design decisions across the company.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

Responsibilities
  • Work with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed
  • See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and ship products and features that make Datadog better
  • Be the expert in your product area, mentoring designers on the team to do their best work
  • Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the company
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built
