POSITION OVERVIEW Intelex is seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer who can combine user research, domain understanding, and strong interaction design skills to deliver meaningful, high-quality digital experiences. In this role, you will lead complex design initiatives across web and mobile applications, shaping workflows that support real customer goals and business outcomes. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to explore problems, define solutions, and validate designs through research, testing, and real-world feedback. As a senior individual contributor, you will play a key role in raising design quality, influencing product direction, and supporting the growth of other designers through collaboration and feedback. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES Lead design work for complex problem spaces from discovery through delivery with minimal oversight Design clear, intuitive, and scalable workflows for complex systems and multi-step user journeys Contribute to raising the overall quality of visual and interaction design while applying and evolving the design system Plan and conduct user research and feedback sessions with customers and internal stakeholders Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into clear design direction and actionable next steps Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate intent and validate solutions Partner closely with product managers to translate strategy and customer needs into thoughtful design solutions Collaborate with engineers through prototypes and design specifications to ensure feasibility and quality execution Validate designs through usability testing and iteration prior to release Communicate design rationale and outcomes clearly to team members and leaders Identify experience gaps, risks, and opportunities and proactively propose improvements Contribute to improving team practices, standards, and ways of working Support other designers through feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT Reports to the Manager, User Experience QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND WORK TRAITS Comfortable leading both qualitative and quantitative research efforts Regularly engages with customers to understand needs, motivations, and constraints Strong system-thinking skills with experience simplifying complex workflows Takes ownership of outcomes, not just deliverables Strong interaction and visual design skills across layout, hierarchy, and interface clarity Skilled in selecting appropriate prototyping methods to explore and validate ideas Clear, confident communicator who can tell compelling design stories Proactively seeks and applies feedback Able to anticipate risks and address them early Decisive and able to make progress in ambiguous problem spaces Collaborative, humble, and values-driven Comfortable raising issues and proposing solutions Excellent English writing, communication, and presentation skills TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Proficient with Figma Working knowledge of Jira and Miro PREFERRED Experience with a component-based design system such as Material UI Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Seven to ten or more years of experience in a Product Design or User Experience role Experience researching and designing complex business software Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, system-level thinking, and research-informed decisions Solid understanding of user experience and research practices PREFERRED Experience working in agile or iterative product development environments EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or post-secondary training in Product Design, User Experience, or a related field preferred Fortive Corporation Overview Fortive’s essential technology makes the world stronger, safer, and smarter.
